Hi I got a bbl last May and then developed a lump under the skin that was very red and painful and caused severe pain in my leg, and a while and then became dry and flaky but I’ve had a hard round lump in that spot ever since and lately its been hurting on and off, I’m not sure if this is something I should worry about ? Please let me know thank you very much

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

YES! worry.... You need to be seen by a plastic surgeon ASAP. It most likely is infected fat necrosis under skin. You need RX antibiotics, even maybe IV delivered. Possible drainage procedure with packing. This should not be neglected! Did you connect to your BBL surgeon?

In your post you state your procedure was done in May of last year which is seven months ago.
The pictures you show do not look like seven months postop pictures.
They look like pictures taken within the first two weeks of surgery.
If you’re having redness pain and swelling early after the procedure it could be a sign of an infection and be quite serious.
Your picture in the timeframe do not seem to match.
It’s highly unlikely you’re having an infection if you’re seven months out from surgery.
Sudden onset of worsening pain with redness and swelling is a sign of an infection and anytime an infection is suspected patient should be seen ASAP.
If you simply have a lump that’s been consistent and the same for several months then you should just schedule a follow up with your provider.
It’s a little hard to answer your question because the posted information seems conflicting.
When in doubt seek help sooner rather than later.
