I am 52 and have been receiving testosterone pellet therapy for 2 years. I am considering a Lipo 360/BBL procedure. Can you have the BBL procedure done with a pellet inserted into the upper buttock area?
Answer: BBL candidate Dear Phenomenal931034, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Hormone device and BBL Different providers will have different opinions but having hormone pellets implanted should not inherently prevent you from having liposuction or fat transfer. You may or may not be a good candidate for the procedure. Without pictures we can’t really give you any definitive recommendations. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer result is more difficult than most people believe. The variation in outcome for this procedure based purely on who does the surgery varies more for the BBL than any other plastic surgery procedure I’ve ever seen. Recognize that a BBL is two procedures done at the same time. Liposuction and fat transfer. Anybody considering the procedure needs to be assessed regarding both Liposuction and fed transferred. Likewise, patients need to vet plastic surgeons for their skill in both liposuction and fat transfer. Recognize that fat transfer results changed drastically over time and confirm all after pictures are taken at a minimum of three months after the date of surgery. I recommend anybody considering this procedure I have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in their community.I recommend people avoid virtual consultations whenever possible and especially avoid traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures. During each consultation and ask providers to show as many pictures as possible of patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. Ask providers to show you examples of excellent results, average results and results that did not turn out as well as they had hoped. For a reference an experienced provider should be able to show you at least 50 set of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures. The importance of provider selection cannot be over emphasized. When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
