Is fluctuation in tip swelling normal after 6 months from surgery date?

I had a lot of swelling and a bulbous tip after surgery (approx. 5 months after) and my surgeon injected a steroid shot to reduce inflammation in the tip. After 48 hours I saw a huge difference, but I have become hyper focused on it to make sure it doesn’t swell up like before. I feel that I notice the amount of swelling is different each day. Is that normal? Are the fluctuations going to decrease over time? I have thick skin so I know it takes 9-12 months to see final results

It takes longer than 1 year for rhinoplasty result to settle and mature. This particularely applies to tip and supratip areas. Taping overnight and, if needed, corticosteroid injection may help. Try to be patient. Hope this helps.

: Tip swelling after rhinoplasty:  tip swelling and the accumulation of scar  issue persists for many many months post surgery. With average skin thickness  it generally takes about a year to see the final tip. With thick skin it takes even longer. Along the way to the final result there will be days where the tip appears more swollen, and days when it appears less swollen. sleeping with your face down may lead to more swelling when you get up in the morning. A large salt intake such as a very large Chinese food meal may lead to more swelling. in females the nose may swell slightly more when they are premenstrual. These are just a few of the factors which will fluctuate from day today during the healing phase. So it is normal to see variations from better days to worst days.
