Is lymphatic massage before a procedure of any benefit?

Question

I'm seeing where some physicians recommend lymphatic massage after lipo and tummy tuck to assist with drainage of the swelling. Would it be of any benefit to have an initial lymphatic massage prior to having these procedures to in effect ensure there are no current lymphatic drainage issues which may cause problems after the procedures?

Pre-op lymphatic massage is nonsense.  Post-operative it won't help and might contribute to tissue trauma if done too vigorously.

It is debatable with the lymphatic massage is helpful after surgery. It is not debatable whether it's helpful before surgery. It is not helpful.

I have heard of lymphatic massage after liposuction but not before. It is believed that massage after liposuction can decrease the swelling and lumpiness patients see after surgery.
