Is hair transplant possible with very fine hair? (Photo)

Question

I always had the receding hairline, it is genetic. I don't have any hairloss issues aswell. Now i really want to fix this hairline as it makes my forehead looks huge and it makes me look slightly manly and bald. The issue is I have the very fine hairtype. So is it possible to get hairtransplant with fine hair? Also my scalp is not densely packed with hair so I guess I don't have dense hairfollicles. I really want the hair transplant though.

Yes. Fine caliber hair can be used for hair transplantation. In your situation specifically, fine hairs are actually great, since they will provide very soft, natural results for your temples. The only negative with fine caliber hairs is that they don't have as much mass, so to create the appearance of fullness, more hairs are needed in comparison with coarse caliber hairs, which can provide more density. The flip side of this is that fine caliber hairs look more natural easier with a hair transplant in comparison with coarse hairs, which can be more obvious if not transplanted with perfect technique.

Often with fine hair, FUT hair transplant will provide superior results. This is because of the nature of gently hand-dissecting the strip of fine hair into its individual follicular unit grafts. Fine is a greater challenge in FUE procedures. Also, in women, FUT is preferred because there is no large volume of donor shaving required as in FUE procedures. It is also important to note that with fine hair, you may want to have two hair transplants to provide a thicker appearance, as the initial transplant will give coverage but may still be thin.
