Had 3400 FUE in 2015 resulting in nerve damage (scalp) but would like 2nd HT. What is your advice?

Seeking clinical advice/experience. I had 3400 FUE procedure in 2015 (Turkey). No complications at the time of surgery but left with diffuse numbfness across top of head (recipient area). Extremely rare. Surgeon and team were experienced (ABHRS certification). I would really like a second transplant but want to ask if any surgeon has performed surgery in case like mine. Was there further nerve damage in the 2nd HT? Which method is the safest/least traumatic? (CHOI vs Sapphire vs other?)

Permanent nerve damage is very rare after a hair transplant procedure. Temporary areas of numbness for a few weeks to months after a hair transplant, but it gets better with time. Since you have not seem improvement after so many years, the damage is likely permanent. Regarding a second transplant, the nerve damage should not be a factor, as long as the blood flow to your scalp is good. Nerves run together and blood vessels, and the nerve damage could have caused damage to the blood vessels as well, which may then affect the growth of any new transplanted hairs and put you at risk for poor healing. I would recommend you mention this to the surgeon that you are choosing to do your next transplant so he or she can examine your scalp in detail to determine the blood flow.

The best advice I can offer is to get a few opinions from very experienced doctors before making your choice.
