Is it normal to be in so much pain after taking my faja off?

Thank you for your question.The burning sensation in your tummy is normal during your recovery from your tummy tuck but it is better to seek specific advice from your plastic surgeon regarding your compression garment and what you can do to aid your recovery.

Follow your plastic surgeon's advice.  Plastic surgeon preferences for compression garments and duration of wear differ.  
I ask my patients to wear compression garments to help obliterate dead space and reduce the incidence of fluid collections.  You probably feel more comfortable wearing the garment because you were fitted with the correct size garment for you at this point in your recovery period.  If you continue to be in pain, schedule an evaluation by your PS.
My practice provides my BBL patients with adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted.  The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make.

It is best to communicate with your plastic surgeon and get his or her input as to your recovery and symptoms. Best of luck to you. 

It can feel odd when you are out of your faja because you get used to the support it provides. However at 29 days post op you should not be feeling the degree of discomfort you are describing. I encourage you to speak with your surgeon and ensure there are no concerns and that your compression garment is fitting correctly.
