Can a tummy tuck lift my outer thighs and front thigh?

Thank you for your question! A tummy tuck will not effect the thighs at all, only the skin to the abdomen and front of the hips. If you are wanting to address the excess skin to the thighs, a longitudinal thigh lift would be the procedure to look into. Almost always the skin in front of your thighs will be tightened. You could only expect tightening of your outer thighs skin if you're scar was much longer and you had previously discussed this with your plastic surgeon.

The pubic area is lifted, and the skin of the anterior thigh is minimally lifted.  You need to seek out an expert in tummy tucks, extended tummy tucks, body lifts, thigh lifts, and pubic lifts as there are so many variations. These variations need to be tailored to your goals and anatomy. 

There may be some tightening of the skin in the front of the things with a tummy tuck, but far less than what you might think. When you pull up on the abdominal skin I know it seems to tighten the front of the thighs. I reality the surgery doesn’t duplicate that effect.

Hello and thank you for sharing your question. A traditional TT will do little or nothing to improve the thighs. I prefer the low scar tt technique. This scar is closer to the vaginal area and the thighs, tightening all adjacent skin, not just the tummy. With the Low Scar TT Technique we can produce a Mons Lift as well as considerable improvement on the skin tightness of the anterior thighs. Extending this tt might help with the lateral thighs as well but to less affect. If you want and need a thigh lift, I recommend waiting until after the tummy tuck. Having them done together will create pulling vectors in opposite directions. Too much tension in opposite directions increases the risk of wound dehiscence. This in turn, limits how aggressive a surgeon can be with skin excision when combining a TT with a Thigh Lift.I recommend 2 rounds of surgery. As much skin as possible is taken out with the tummy tuck in round 1. Then, once healed and and all skin above the thighs is tight, we can proceed with the thigh lift. a traditional tummy tuck only produces a temporary improvement to anterior thighs . For some improvement to the lateral thighs , a body lift procedure is more effective 

The amount of improvement on the anterior upper thigh with a traditional tummy tuck will be subtle. There is some tension placed on the upper thigh skin with the closure of the tummy tuck incision, but once the surgery is healed, most of the tension is gone and there is not much residual effect on the thigh. The lateral thigh can be addressed with a tummy tuck if the scar is extended laterally and the adhesion points of the lateral thigh are elevated. The amount of improvement in the lateral thigh all depends on how much skin above the thigh is removed with the procedure and how the incision is closed. For patients that have had massive weight loss, there can sometimes be a very noticeable improvement in the lateral thigh when a significant amount of skin is removed from the hip.

tummy tuck will remove the excess skin from your abdomen and tighten the abdominal muscles, but it will not affect your thighs. If you have loose skin on thighs, you will probably need a thigh lift in order to address it. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
