Should I have implants removed after 13 years? What would a revision do? Solid, textured silicone. One side smaller. (Photos)
Hi, I had my buttock implants back in 2013, almost 13 years ago and never had a problem. One year ago, after working out butt muscles, I started feeling extra sore on the left side. My butt got swollen, red around the area where the implant is placed (I can feel them even though they are placed intramuscular), the area was hot and it was very painful. I tried contacting my original surgeon just to have some guidance on what to do or have a consult with him since he is the only one who knows what technique he used. This surgeon yelled at me on the phone and refused to see me saying it had been a very long time and he would not see me, just told me to contact my last surgeon and hanged up on me. I was not blaming anyone, I just needed guidance on what to do. I contacted my last surgeon, who did liposuction and breast lift on me and he recommended that I get an MRI to evaluate the area. Pain and swelling will come and go, it hurts less every time. I guess I learned which exercises will make the pain come back and I try to avoid them. The left buttock is swollen all the time but can be painless. I can notice the difference between left and right's size. The MRI shows a seroma, almost the same size as the implant, the implants are small, I don't remember the size but I was very slim at that time and could not do bbl, I was a size 0. After the MRI interpretation, my last surgeon recommended to remove them, drain the area, let my muscles heal and replace the implants
