Question

Hi there! Im an inborn double-eyelid girl. i remember 4 years ago i was using double eyelid tapes whenever i go to bed, hoping it would create a higher crease which would make my eye lool rounder and bigger. however, after half year of usage, i realized the crease formed is in a position lower than my original lid, but not what i expect at the higher level. ive ceased using the tapes, but the crease remains for years. im so unhappy now cos my eyelid now creases at an undesirable low position.

From the limited two views of the eyes and the type of epicanthal fold you possess, I think there is a good chance that you have a condition called ptosis, in which the muscle does not fully open the eyelid. This frequently causes undesirable folds, although usually not in the location you show.

	Mild ptosis is usually corrected at the time of double eyelid surgery - and in your case, probable inner epicanthoplasty (removal of the excess inner corner skin).

this is a very common issue and about 30% of my Asian eyelid surgeries are for this particular problem. The website and video links below you'll see multiple examples of creases like yours. You'll need to go to see someone who specializes in Asian eyelid surgery and can show you before-and-after's of your particular problem. There is a small chance that you have something called ptosis and there is information regarding that below as well. One thing in particular I would suggest to you is that you have an incision method performed not suture method. You'll need something that's longer-lasting with more reliable results to adequately deal with your issue.

Unfortunately double sided eyelid tape will not help you achieve the result you are seeking. You will need to consider surgical options. Please consult with a board certified specialist who can help you achieve the results you seek.

Surgically revising your natural crease may be an option for you. The goal would be to strengthen the crease while smoothing the skin drape of the lower lid. The tape can not achieve the same lid definition as suture.
