47 y/o female - Can you help with SkinPen scarring/wrinkle concerns before treatment?

I am scheduled for 1st skinpen microneedling treatment a few questions 1) I tend to get hypertrophic scars. Should I not get skinpen or should the treatment be modified somehow? 2) will skinpen help resolve sleep wrinkles if I get the recommended 3 treatments and follow good skincare routine consistently? 3) does skinpen lift skin as a result of the increased collagen and elasticity? I’d like to see some uplift around the corners of my mouth which are turning down due to laxity.

SkinPen is a microneedling treatment that improves overall skin texture, can address fine lines, and improve uneven skin tone.  It is safe for all skin tones.  Three treatment sessions are recommended for optimal results and you should continue to see improvement for up to six months.  We also recommend using medical grade skin care products like Transform MD and wearing sunscreen every day.  Your skin care professional will help you determine if SkinPen alone should address your concerns or if it would be best to combine it with other treatments such as filler for a more lifted result.

SkinPen is one of our most popular treatments for skin rejuvenation. We often combine it with PRP which delivers growth factors to the skin. When properly performed, SkinPen should have a very low risk for causing any type of scarring. You should discuss your history of hypertrophic scarring with your provider. It may be a good idea to use lighter settings for your first treatment. As far as sleep lines, SkinPen should help to soften those. Doing repeat treatments will help. Sleeping on your back is the best way to avoid sleep lines. Botox, fillers, and lasers can also be used to help with deeper lines. As far as uplift around the corners of your mouth, you should see some improvement with repeat SkinPen treatments but you might also want to consider Botox and fillers for this area.
