I had deflated saline implants (505cc) removed and replaced with 480 cc silicone with a lift . My question is it common to need to have a nipple revision surgery? On my right breast my nipple look pretty good. Underneath that nipple to the right next to the lift scar is a good remaining portion of my original nipple.

Answer: Scar after breast lift Unfortunately, some people develop very thick and pigmented scars after surgery, including breast lift scars. In your case it is a hypertrophic, heavily pigmented scar that you see not a portion of a nipple. Your nipple seems to be intact since there is no scar around it? Laser treatment of the scar may be the way to correct it to a certain degree. Hope this helps.

Answer: Sounds like you may need a revision Sometimes when you do a mastopexy and somebody has very a large areola it is hard to get all of the pigment out and therefore it ends up in your vertical scar. After the tissue soften you can go back secondarily and resect this to try to dress up and otherwise nice result. Good luck,Dr. T
