Tri Luma Pre Treatment for Chemical Peel?

In my practice, I try to stay away from these combination regimens, as cortisones are non-selective inhibitors of melanocytes.  I would recommend my patients to start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for the pigmentation.
I would start with an intense skin rejuvenation protocol for age spots that includes fractional laser, Covalent chemical peels, and daily skin brightening creams to improve your skin’s complexion. Laser therapy, he adds, must be combined with a proper skin regimen to enhance and maintain youthful results.

If you have a darker complexion it is advised to use Hydroquinone prior to any cosmetic treatment to help to reduce any chance of hyperpigmentation.  However, it is NOT advised to use tretinoin, (retin A) one of the other ingredients in that cream less than a week before a procedure.  Because of that component of the cream even a facial or facial waxing can cause problems to the skin therefore Tri-luma should be discontinued 1 week prior to a minor procedure and 10 days to 2 weeks before a laser or chemical peel treatment.  To answer your question further, yes the peels will help and the peels in combination with the cream is a great regimen as long as you use it according to the guidelines.  Good luck!
