Please help! Over the past 3 months my eye bags have gotten significantly bigger/puffier. When I smile I have huge bulging under my eyes. My parents don’t have eye bags. I’m in my early 20s and it makes me look older than I am which makes me upset. I don’t want to have surgery this young. I’m considering filler but am worried it’ll make the bulging worse. Are there any options that wouldn’t make the bulging worse? Would tear trough filler combined w cheek filler help? Is surgery the only option?
Answer: Options If you are considering only non surgical options, filler is a good choice. It is temporary but works to disguise under eye contour irregularities. It works well when combined with other treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels and laser treatments. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more. I encourage you to use medical grade skin care products and sunscreen every day.

Answer: Puffy Under Eye Bags -- Fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella); Lasers (Fraxel, CO2); Renuvion; Microneedling/PRP; Peels There are many things you can do to treat under eye bags, but a combination approach with nonsurgical treatments would give the most improvement: fillers (Belotero, Juvederm Volbella), lasers (Fraxel/CO2), Renuvion (J-Plasma), microneedling/PRP, Cosmelan peels and stem cells. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat might be the best solution long-term. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Under eye fat bags in a young person One possible treatment is lower blepharoplasty but it should be done using transconjunctival method (to preserve eye shape and function) with repositioning of the eye fat to the surrounding area (to avoid sunken hollow eyes). See an expert oculoplastic surgeon.

Answer: Dark circles and under eye puffiness Hi, thanks for your question. I would need to examine in you person to be able to give you a proper medical advice. When it comes to under eyes, it's usually a combination of genetics, shadowing, volume loss, as well as pigmentary changes to the skin. First of all, are you suffering from any allergies, even seasonal ones? I'd suggest you to undergo a proper medical check-up before doing any cosmetic procedures. According to your pictures, it looks more like an inflammatory discoloration and swelling more than an aging process. A filler is not the right indication for you, since it's not a volume loss. Topical draining products, others that will help lighten the skin, light chemical peels and light-based treatments such as Intense Pulse Light can also be helpful. Feel free to contact us anytime. Hope this can help.

Answer: Treatment for eye bags There are many treatments for bags under the eyes. These often ranged from nonsurgical treatments that tight in the skin including chemical peels, laser peels, and RF devices. Sometimes if the bags are due to enlarge muscles a few units of Botox may help shrink them. If there is excess skin, fat or muscle laxity a lower eyelid lift is usually the best solution. To find out what would work best for you should see a plastic surgeon to be evaluated and discussed her options.
