Epicanthal fold only in one eye, can it be corrected?

I hate how asymmetric it makes my face look and would very much like it to be corrected. However, I haven’t found any information online about for example would z plasty surgery be suitable for this or would it leave a huge scar? I’m thinking about seeing a plastic surgeon but would like to hear as many opinions on this matter as possible since the procedure would be done on a very noticiable area.

An epicanthoplasty can be used to improve the epicanthal fold, but it will leave a scar. The scar most likely will not be that visible, but that is not a guarantee. An experienced Asian eyelid surgeon would be your best bet. West coast surgeons tend to have more experience in this type of procedure as there is a higher Asian population here. Good luc

It could be brilliant or it could cause permanent scaring in the middle of your face. There is no general plastic surgeon in your area who will have sufficient experience to pull this off except by luck. If you are going to do this, you need a highly experienced Asian eyelid surgery expert. Even then, there is no guarantee that you won't end up with a high unsatisfactory scar. I recommend posting a photograph that shows both sides to help understand how different this side is compared to your other side. Doing nothing may be the best choice,

The epicanthal fold can be corrected however there is a risk of a scar in the corner of the eye depending on how you normally heal. Most people cover this with make-up without any issues. This is best determined by an in-office examination to also evaluate your skin type and propensity to form large or dark scars. Hope this helps!
