I am a 40 year old female and I have fluctuated in weight from the age of 16, usually no more than 20 kilos but had some slight loose skin around my stomach. More recently I gained 50 kilos over 2 years and lost the weight over a year or so resulting in the loose skin around my stomach to be more noticeable and also around my thighs. What ntreatments can help for stomach and thighs? I am trying to avoid tummy tuck or thigh lift as I keloid scar and I feel the scar would be much worse than the skin. I have heard about BodyTite and not sure if it can really help or not.

Answer: Treatment for saggy stomach and thighs Hi Kameela, After significant weight loss, it’s common to experience loose skin around areas like the stomach and thighs. If you're looking to avoid surgery, there are several non-invasive treatments that could help tighten the skin without the risk of scarring. One option is BodyTite, which uses radiofrequency energy to target and tighten the skin while also reducing fat. It’s often recommended for people with mild to moderate skin laxity and can help improve skin appearance over time. Additionally, treatments like Morpheus8 or TempSure ENVI™ focus on skin tightening through different technologies, and they can be effective for addressing concerns like sagging skin post-weight loss. Since you mentioned that you’re prone to keloid scarring, it’s best to consult with a specialist who can assess your skin and recommend the safest approach for you. Non-invasive procedures generally carry a lower risk of scarring compared to surgery. Best of luck on your journey, and I hope you find the right treatment for your needs!

Answer: Tummy tuck and possible skin tightening to thighs In my opinion, you are unlikely to be satisfied with anything short of a tummy tuck. Based on what you’ve shared, I believe skin tightening devices such as BodyTite, Renuvion, or Morpheus would not deliver results that justify the investment for your abdomen. That said, your thighs may benefit from BodyTite or Renuvion, though an in-person evaluation would be necessary to assess your skin quality and determine the best approach. Your concern about keloiding is reasonable, but I would recommend speaking to a plastic surgeon about your keloid history to get a better idea of your individual risk.
