Total FX-laser - How long is recovery?

Total FX is an intense treatment that can require up to one week of recovery time. At that point, you will be able to apply makeup to hide any residual effects from the treatment. Swelling from fat injections doesn’t typically last as long and should subside within a matter of days. If you have any additional questions, I would refer them to your provider. Also, make sure you avoid direct sun exposure for a few weeks to prevent damage to the vulnerable skin. 

It is difficult to advise you on recovery time without knowing how deep your procedure was. Deeper treatments tend to require a longer downtime for the skin to heal fully. If your treatment was more superficial, you see improvement in the side effects within a few days. If it was a deeper procedure, you may need one to two weeks to recover. Swelling from fat injections usually subsides within a week or two as well. If you are concerned, I recommend scheduling a follow-up with your provider to ensure you are healing well and find out if there is anything you can do to enhance the recovery process. 

The recovery time after a Total FX treatment will depend on the depth and intensity of your procedure. When deeper treatments are administered, they remove more skin layers from the surface and require a slightly longer recovery process. More superficial treatments will not need as much healing time. If you had a more intense treatment, chances are you will not feel comfortable in public for about one week. If your treatment was lighter, you may be ready to apply makeup and return to regular activities within a few days. Regarding the fat transfer, swelling will depend on the quantity placed. In general, it will last 1 – 2 weeks, but if your surgeon greatly overcorrected, it can last much longer. Always follow the instructions of your provider carefully after your procedure to ensure your recovery is safe, complete and complication-free.
