I think your on the right track using the hydrocodone cream. It may be helpful actually to go on a skin care regimen with a line such as Obagi. This will help to not only maintain her result but help with the hyperpigmentation. The Retin-A will help to get the hydrocodone a little deeper so we will have a better result. You may actually end up needing to have a peel if the skin care regimen by itself does not take care of this.

TotalFX is a great ablative fractional laser treatment that treats wrinkles and
acne scars quite well. Sometimes during the healing process, which in your case
is still going on, a post inflammatory hyperpigmentation can occur, as you now
have. Using an appropriate sun block is important as well as a good skin care
regimen can help minimize this and correct it.
The previous answer mentioned the Obagi system and this is a good
post-laser regimen that will help, as will others such as those made by
Neocutis or SkinMedica. You should go
back to your physician, hopefully a board certified dermatologist or plastic
surgeon, to make sure that things are going as they would expect, and to
provide appropriate skin care to get you to heal faster.
