How many times a week should Minoxidil be used after a month post hair transplant?

Specific medical treatment issues should be discussed with your doctor especially if you are not sure how to use the medication.  

I have my patients apply Rogaine once a day starting the fourth week after a hair transplant, and continue for 4 months, provided there is no irritation.

Minoxidil or Finasteride have little or no effect on transplanted hair and are not needed to protect the grafts.However,those medications can prevent ongoing loss of untransplanted hair and thus improve the overall results.Ideally Minoxidil should be used twice daily with it staying on the scalp for at least several hours after each application.

Thanks for your question. We recommend our male patients to start after 20 days with 5% Minoxidil Spray. It should be applied two times a day and for permanent one year usage.

Minoxidil is one of only two drugs licensed and proven with reproduceable research to treat hair loss in men and women.In men it is lincensed to be used as a 5% concentration and is available in foam and liquid preparations.In women it is licensed to be used twice a day as a 2% liquid preparation or once a day as a 5% foam preparation.There are trichologists and doctors who prescribe stronger concentrations of minoxidil but these are not licensed for hair loss.Minoxidil can be started a month after a transplant as above but you should always check with your hair transplant surgeon.
