I have a small lump (about 1cm diameter) that can be felt close to the outside of one breast, but is not visible. It has been thoroughly checked via ultrasound & mammogram and is of no concern medically. I am currently a 32A and want to go up to a full B. Is this lump something that may affect results of augmentation?
Answer: Breasts should not be lumpy and if your mass is discrete and easily appreciated, I would want to remove it at the time of your procedure, or if there was a strong family history of breast cancer, removal of the mass first followed by augmentation a few weeks later. The lump itself won't affect your results but in my opinion, breasts should not be lumpy.

Answer: Mass trumps implants I would suggest that you have your breast mass throughly evaluated by a radiologist and/or a breast oncologic surgeon prior to proceeding with cosmetic breast augmentation. If and when it is clear that the mass is benign fibrous breast tissue then proceeding with breast augmentation would be reasonable.
