What is the best skin tightening technology for loose skin after liposuction of the waist and flanks. How effective are they? And what are the costs?

Non surgical options give only mild improvement compared to surgical lifting. If there is a lot of skin laxity, a tummy tuck and/or body lifting procedure would give the most improvement. Other options for skin tightening would be a combination approach with vanquish, venus legacy, exilis, celllutone/Zwave. Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

Thank you for your question. I have found the BodyTite by InMode to be the most effective skin tightening device. This minimally invasive procedure is done with tumescent anesthesia and uses a radio-frequency probe inserted beneath the skin coupled with a probe on the surface of the skin. The RF energy passes between the two probes thereby heating and tightening the skin through new collagen formation while destroying fat cells at the same time. It takes up to 6 months to see the full effect of the skin tightening. Patients can see up to a 30% reduction in the surface area of the skin. If there are extensive stretch marks the effectiveness of BodyTite and all other skin tightening devices will be reduced. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
