1 months post op, can I remove cartilage & alloderm graft? (photos)

The redness of the tip of the nose is of major concern, the swelling inside the nostril with white color is of major concern in the face of silicone and alloderm implants. See your plastic surgeon ASAP

From the looks of this photo there appears to be some cellulitis of your nasal tip.  Things that may aid in resolution:hyperbaric oxygen therapyintranasal bactroban or mupirocin ointment as well as to the nasal skinantibioticsno smoking however if the foreign materials in your nose have been colonized by bacteria, referred to as a biofilm, the materials may have to be removed. If that's the case, don't worry!  Several months after the materials are removed and there is no evidence of residual infection, you can have a revision and use various portions of cartilage and bone from your own body to reaugmentation your nose.hang in there, I'm sure what you are going through is awful but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it just will require timeregards

One month is still very soon to make any determinations on how the nose will finally look. I would say that you are more red in the tip and at all your incision lines than my normal patients at the one month mark. Foreign substances like alloderm do tend to cause a bit more swelling that lasts a bit longer than just native cartilage. The redness on the columellar incision will improve with time and may benefit from treatment with a vascular laser. I would try and get in contact with your surgeon to have them explain your individual situation a bit better to you because depending on where he put a silicone implant, you want to keep a close eye on the redness at the tip.
