How do I get Ohip (I live in Toronto) to cover my explant? I’ve had my BA for 8 years now but they are causing lots of pain/tenderness and they aren’t fda approved in North America (I had them done in Brazil) ..Left implant is always super sore and tender can’t even wear a bra without it starting to hurt Thanks !

Hi there and thanks for your question. I advise patients to sleep on their back for the first week or so. At 1-2 weeks you should be able to sleep in any position comfortable. You can place pillows on your sides if that helps. Feel better and best of luck!
Since your implants were placed for medical reconstruction, their removal should be covered. However each plan varies, so I recommend contacting Aetna to find the benefit parameters for your particular policy.
I'm sorry you are not feeling well after your surgery. It's not possible to say whether the symptoms you are experiencing are related to your implant or another cause. I recommend contacting your surgeon to discuss the situation further as it's important that infection be addressed if present.
