Can I get lip fillers if I have vitiligo and are there ways to limit trauma from the needle?

It’s unlikely that vitiligo will be made worse or affected in anyway by having lip fillers.In regards to legal trauma the best thing to do is use high-quality small needles. Some prefer using cannulas instead of needles and believe that they are superior. Personally I prefer to inject lidocaine with a fairly high epinephrine concentration prior to injecting fillers to vasoconstrict the areas prior to placing the fillers.Vasoconstricting to tissues allows fillers to be injected with virtually zero bleeding.Whether this is less traumatic or not is a different topic but it does leave people with far less likelihood of getting bruised. I also prefer using one and a quarter inch long needles. This allows me to reach the midline from the corner of the mouth with a single needle stick.Are use the highest quality TSK needles from Japan or cannulas.Find a quality provider.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
