It is more likely that your filler has just lasted this long. On average, I see Revanesse as one of the longer lasting products, especially in the lips. However, if your goal is to achieve smaller lips, consult with your provider and consider dissolving.

This is an interesting observation after injection of Revannesse Versa filler by Prolennium. Persistent swelling, filler migration, and poor absorption of the filler components may cause the lips to change in shape from their original form. I would suggest using Restylane and Juvederm next time you do filler and try to immediately remove the Versa Revanesse from your lips at the earliest opportunity to prevent longterm amorphous swelling of the lips.

Choose the right filler options including Juvederm and Restylane. Choose wisely.

Thanks so much for your question and your helpful photo.The duration a filler lasts is a combination of the product and the patient - some patients will dissolve their filler very fast while others can have a persisting effect.  Some products are rapidly dissolved and others persist.  We try to find a nice balance of longevity of effect and preventing complications (i.e. nodularity).  Your question suggests that it has been 2 years since your last treatment.  If that is the case, then it may very well be some scarring and/or collagen deposition.  One option would be to try injecting the lips with hyaluronidase to dissolve any remaining filler. This would help you "reset" things and determine the degree of persistent product vs. scar.  Sometimes several sessions of hyaluronidase therapy are necessary.I'd recommend an evaluation by an experienced Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist to help sort this out.  Hope that helps.
