I have a ridge/shadow on upper lip after filler. Does this always happen or can it be eliminated with better technique? (photos)

The bottom line is that you are unhappy with the Versa Filler by Revannesse Prolennium. This filler is FDA approved and manufactured in Canada. I have a lot of experience with filler complications and botched fillers and this should be refined so that your desired results match your physical lip contour. I would remove the Revanesse Versa filler and opt for a more customized filler such as Restylane or Juvederm.

Thanks for your question.  Hopefully by now the lips are nice and even and settled in.  When a full syringe of Versa is put in, there definitely can be some firmness and noticeable edge because there simply is only so much the lips can take.  I think the full syringe might have been a bit much for your lovely smaller lips, so maybe try some Volbella which comes in a 0.55cc syringe which is much softer and more forgiving, while not having as much actual volume.  Best of luck!

This ridge can occur with filler injection that may be too much for the lips to handle. If you want big, it is unavoidable. Placement of filler in the area above the lip can make the transition less noticeable. The swelling should be subsided by this point.
