I am 4 days post breast augmentation. Transaxillary incision, 365cc high profile, cohesive gel. BWD = 11.9. Height= 5 foot 3.5 inches, Weight= 115lbs. I'm noticing a faint horizontal line approximately half way between the bottom of my nipple and my breast crease. I've heard of double bubble and I'm worried this is the beginning signs of that. Any thoughts?? My post op nurse says she will see me at 1 week post op & will teach me how to massage to even things out. Worried it is double bubble.

Answer: Early Double Bubble? It appears that your natural breast fold was lowered during the surgery. This was either done deliberately to help better sit the implant on the nipple, or was an overdissection ( this happens more often in transaxillary approaches which is why it has really fallen off as a viable incision placement.). Either way, you are seeing the line from your old fold. This may smooth out over time, but will take at least three months to know for sure. I hope this helps.

Answer: Horizontal line between bottom of nipple and breast crease 4 days post Breast Augmentation? It would be interesting to see your preoperative photograph. Sometimes, these types of transverse lines are the "remnant" of the original inframammary fold areas (if the distance from areola to inframammary folds have been increased). Often, these types of "lines" are temporary and resolve as time goes on. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
