In some circumstances, it is quite possible to perform an Otoplasty surgery in the plastic surgeon's office under local anesthesia - which saves patients a dramatic amount on out-of-pocket surgery center facility and anesthesia provider costs. There are no effective ways of fixing prominent ears wihout surgery. Splinting of the ears can be done in babies and it is effective, but not when the ears are fully developed. An incisionless otoplasty is the least invasive way of correcting prominent ears and this can be done with local anaesthesia as an outpatient.
