How can I fix my asymmetrical eyebrow height? (photo)

Question

My right eyebrow (your left) sits noticeably higher than my other one, I would like to create the appearance of more symmetrical eyebrows by making my right eyebrow (your left) straighter and positioned further down towards my eye, opposed to getting a brow lift and bringing my left eyebrow( your right) up higher. Is there a procedure that could corrtect and bring my eyebrow to an even level and around how much would it cost? Thanks :)

Thank you for your question. Botox, fillers, and threading (or a combination of all three) are good options for treating an asymmetrical brow.A muscle-relaxer, like Botox or Dysport, may be used to soften the muscles that pull your brow down, allowing the elevator muscles more significant opportunity to lift the eyebrow naturally. Dermal fillers can create a lateral brow lift. Fillers can equalize the brows if one is lower than the other. Fillers can laterally raise both eyebrows—no longer drooping! Threads can provide a needed lift. The PDO Threads work to provide traction to the skin. The sagging skin is thereby raised up and concurrently volumized.

The issue is not your eyebrow but rather a droopy right upper eyelid (ptosis) which forces your right eyebrow to work harder to assist in lifting the droopy eyelid. The treatment would be right upper eyelid ptosis surgery. See an oculoplastic surgeon.

Based on the picture provided the best method to achieve eyebrow symmetry might be to selectively weaken, by use of neuromodulator, the side that you would like to bring down further towards your eye. See a cosmetic doctor for a consultation and start with that treatment first. Additional treatments may include filler and eyebrow shaping. Hello AlexPearson:Thanks for your question. A little Botox strategically placed above your right brow in the Frontalis muscle should allow that brow to drop. This will allow you to try out your approach to see if this is really the way you want to go. Should you decide you would prefer to left your left brow to match the right, you can always have a Ultherapy to lift the left brow.

A combination of Botox (or Dysport) and possibly a filler like Restylane could be used to improve eyebrow/eyelid symmetry. It's important to understand though that while these treatments will give an improvement, complete correction of the asymmetry I do not believe will be possible.

I would start with botox and a brow wax/shape to help symmetry. Then if you still aren't satisfied, you could do filler to improve symmetry. I can usually make people happy with botox and then send them to my aesthetician for brow shaping.

In my experience, asymmetric brows are usually due to one of two main causes. Over time it is normal for us to develop asymmetry in our brows due to greater tissue laxity and decent on one side compared to the other. This can be due to excessive sun damage, injury, or simply which side you sleep on most nights.  The other reason is often due to asymmetric muscle/nerve action. The nerve that gives movement to the brows does not run exactly the same on both sides of the face and in some people can be more active or less active on one side or the other.  Therefore, determining the best treatment for you would require finding out the cause of the asymmetry and then proceeding with the best treatment.  For some people, strategically placed botox can lower the brow on one side more than the other. It would be very difficult to surgically lower the eyebrow if it is due to one muscle being more active than the other without potentially causing other problems so in my opinion the best bet is usually findings a balance between raising one side slightly and dropping the other side slightly. The cost of botox varies from practice to practice but typically ranges from $9 to $15 US dollars per unit.
