Hi RealSelf docs, I've had filler in my chin crease & botox for mouth with limited success. What I hope is for my entire face to be "lifted" - like when I pull up on my cheekbones a bit. My face is masculine & heavy, and I'm always asked if (or told) I'm tired or angry. My asymmetric chin, mouth, and jaw, as well as the fat and grooves in my lower face all bother me. My worry is looking overdone, or adding filler to my face when I feel I already have too much weight in it. Thank you!
Answer: Fillers: Tired face Dear chinFTW, Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone. I recommend you seek an in-person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who can perform a thorough examination and recommend the best treatment options to address your goals. If you are a candidate for cheek filler, adding volume and projection to the cheeks can help give a lift to the midface and draw attentio away from the lower face. Neurotoxin to the upper third of the face can also help make the face including the eyes appear less tired and angry as well if that has not been pursued yet. Additional filler to the corners of the mouth if done in a conservative fashion may still be beneficial to the perioral region depending on how much injectable product you have already received there.

Answer: Treating volume loss and laugh lines with filler Fillers treatment could help address volume loss and improve the lines around the mouth that you do not like. I would consider Restylane Lyft for the cheeks, Restylane Refyne for the corners of the mouth and marionette lines, and Restylane Defyne for the prejowl hollows and nasolabial folds.

Answer: Full Consultation Needed I'm sorry that you haven't had success reaching your goals as of yet with cosmetic treatments. I think the best way to approach it is to get in to see a reputable Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon. I was a bit concerned about your statement that you have had Botox around your mouth to correct this problem. I'm also noting a bit of facial asymmetry on the left lip. I'm not sure if that is from the Botox or from a prior nerve palsy. In either case, I think a full evaluation with a physician would be helpful. You do have areas of volume loss that can be addressed with filler, and I do think that the down turning of your mouth can be addressed with filler as well.
