How soon can you get Coolsculpting after childbirth? I had c-section. Can I get my upper stomach done?

Hi,Thank you for your question.In our practice we recommend waiting 6 months post partum before coolsculpting treatment. Although your incision will be healed, the scar is still maturing up to 1 year and may be sensitive to the suction associated with treatment. It is also important to rule out any hernias prior to treatment. As always, please see an experienced provider for an individualized assessment and be aware that coolsculpting does not treat rectus diastasis, skin laxity or cellulite. Hope this helps!

I would recommend that you wait 6 weeks following childbirth, and are no longer breast feeding before you undergo a coolsculpting treatment.  You also want to ensure that the incision from your c-section is completely healed as well.  I would also suggest that you get the ok from your doctor before proceeding.  Coolsculpting can be a very rewarding treatment, so it's best you set yourself up for success before moving forward.Best of luck,Dr. Philip Solomon, Solomon Facial Plastic, Toronto, Canada

Hi! Thank you for asking this question. I would not suggest any type of treatment until you are at least 6 weeks postpartum. I would also suggest letting your OB know you would like the treatment and be cleared prior to treating. Good luck and don't rush!
