Happy with results, but, still bruised and swollen...& getting impatient. Had a lot of bruising and swelling due to being tense during surgery. 1 month post op upper and lower with co2 laser. Thank you.
Answer: Postop scleral show It will continue to get better. Gently push up the lower lid with your finger 30 times a day and do a lot of smiling to activate your orbicularis muscle. This will help it move along. RegardsDr. J

Answer: Excess sceral show after lower blepharoplasty One month after surgery , there is still some swelling present and healing is not complete. I generally defer judging results or performing revisions until three months post op. The problem of excess sceral show after surgery is a difficult one . In the early post op period taping of the lids, or performing a tarsorraphy to support the lid can be of benefit. The degree of show seen in your photos is unlikely to resolve , however , without revision. You will probably require a canthopexy procedure to elevate the lid and support it.

Answer: It is improbable that the scleral show will improve. Being tense during surgery did not cause your bruising and swelling. Don't let your surgeon hang their results on you. Your looks look harsh. For example, the upper eyelid crease look high. Unless you are having dry eye symptoms (burning, stinging, foreign body sensation). Let the eyelids heal. Once you get to month 6, you can decide if you are satisfied with the work or not. Fixing the scleral show is expensive and complex. You are basically happy with the results and not bothered by dry eye, you may not feel motivated to address the issue. I do see many patients from the Toronto market. Hopefully you will not be one of them.

Answer: Postop blepharoplasty You are still healing and things may change. Overall, I would say you've had a nice result and I don't see significant change in lid position. You could consider adding some volume to the upper cheek which would help support the lower lid complex further. Best of luck.

Answer: Still early Thanks for the questionIt looks like you will have a good resultThe swelling is still present and usually takes around 3-6 months to settle downThe bruising can as you stated be quite extensive especially if you are tense and this will add to the recovery time. So it is currently looking good and will still improve some more. I hope this is of help BW
