Essentially Smartlipo is a brand name and laser liposuction is a general category.  All liposuction methods involve suction out the fat with a cannula.  What laser liposuction / Smartlipo does is adds on a step prior to suction out the fat.  This step involves inserting a laser fiber under the skin and firing the laser.  His essentially gets up the tissue, helps breakup and melt the fat and stimulates the tissue for potential increased tightness.  After the laser treatment, the cannula is inserted under the skin and the fat is removed.  It's best to set up a consultation for a complete evaluation to see if you are a good candidate for the procedure.Good Luck

Smart lipo is Laser Liposuction.  SmartLipo is a Brand name.  Laserliposuction uses a laser canulla to melt the fat cells first then they are sucked out with normal liposuction.  The goal with laser liposuction is to heat up the collagen in your skin and cause it to contract.   The biggest problem I have seen with patients who have had laser liposuction is that they often have Lumps and Dents!  Laser liposuction creates a lot of scar tissue in the subcutaneous layer (under the skin), which makes touch up liposuction extremely difficult.   Many patients seem to choose Laser Liposuction because it sounds "hi tech"!  Which it is.   But the results you get are not a result of the machine that is used.  It is a result of the talent of the surgeon who is using the machine.   Fat is removed from where the surgeon directs the canulla.  The machine can make it easier on the surgeon by using Ultrasound or laser to break up the fat, or by vibrating back and forth to minimize the need for the surgeon to perform this action.  But, the machine just removes fat from where the surgeon directs it.  DiscoverTheBeauty.com

Laser-assisted liposuction and Smartlipo  are the same thing.   SmartLipo  is the brand  name of the leading laser in this field.    Your surgeon probably owns a "Smartlipo machine".  The advantages of laser assisted lipo is that the heat generated by the laser melts the fat and also allows for a small amount of skin tightening  to occur prior to suctioning the fat out.   It is great for someone looking to address specific areas of concern to get rid fat and to tighten some of the excess skin around it!   The problem comes in when used by less experienced hands. It is possible to burn the skin with the laser or cause some significant contour deformities.  The other problem that can happen is when it is used to try to achieve more than what it was intended for.  It won't remove as much skin as a tummy tuck will. If Th at is what you really need, you will be disappointed with the results of smartlipo.   That is why it is really important to see a plastic surgeon who can offer you multiple body contouring options.  If someone offers you only smartlipo and isn't able to offer you a tummy tuck when you need it you probably aren't getting all the information you need during your consultation.

Smartlipo is the brand name created to reference laser assisted liposuction. Smartlipo is a wonderful treatment to help reduce those stubborn areas that are not responding to exercise and diet allowing for the ability to also achieve skin tightening as well! Previously I offered both Smartlipo as well as Vasor liposuction (ultrasound assisted liposuction) in my practice and have since switched to offering only Smartlipo as the technology has surpassed any other liposuction modality available today with regard to treatment result and patient satisfaction.
