I would like to get a chin implant but was told crease between lower lip and chin too deep and was advised to get jaw surgery to move my jaw forward instead. However, I have TMJ and damage to my jaw so it's complicated for me to go that route. Any suggestions?
Answer: Chin crease and implant augmentation It doesn't look that you have anything unusual about your chin crease? You should not expect any difficulties with chin augmentation. You may consider small neck liposuction in order to get even better result. Seek a second opinion by a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in facial implant surgery. Good luck.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Chin implant candidate? Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation #weakchin #chinimplant

Answer: Chin implant candidate A small chin implant can accomplish augmenting the chin forward, but the mental labial fold will still be the same. The fatty deposits in the neck can be removed with liposuction, which would also give more definition to the jawline. For many examples of both procedures, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Chin Crease Having a deeper labiomental fold does not perceived you from having chin augmentation, neither does having TMJ dysfunction/symptoms. What is relevant to know is that the labiodental fold may become a little deeper depending upon the increase in the horizontal chin augmentation. In your case the degree of chin augmentation would be small so the labiodental fold would not change in any appreciable way. The real benefit to your chin would come in management of your neck where liposuction or a submentoplasty would create an effect that would either be complementary to your chin augmentation or would eliminate the need for it. Computer imaging would help make that determination.

Answer: Chin I don't think your chin is recessed enough for a chin implant. Liposuction and or a submental tuck if there is deep fat would be more helpful
