I think I need a chin augmentation as my chin is quite recessed and I hate how it looks but what else would help with my side profile? I'm only 20 so what are my non surgical or surgical options?

Answer: Chin Augmentation A small chin can be augmented by either surgery or non surgical techniques. The non surgical approach is a good first step to see if you like the result as surgery is permanent. I use a Calcium hydroxylapatite filler which results in both soft tissue augmentation and collagen stimulation and the results last up to 12 months and increase with second and third injections. Its very safe and effective. Surgical options are a chin silicone implant or bony surgery. I prefer the silicone implant as its far less invasive. In summary try the non surgical option first to see if it is what you like. Hope this is helpful.

Answer: Chin Implant Thank you for sharing your question and for providing photos. Chin implant would significantly improve your side and front profile. There are two different types of chin surgery; however, implantation (mentoplasty) is the most common and sought after procedure. Chin implants can be removed if need be and are made of synthetic materials that are not only completely safe, but they also feel like a real chin when touched. On the other hand, genioplasty is a chin augmentation surgery that does not use an implant. Instead, this procedure involves moving your bone forward to increase the projection of your chin. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon familiar with this surgery.
