"A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease.Implants are still a great option once you are 100% positive that you are ready for a permanent enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert; our practice is located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer"
It's best to begin by consulting with a surgeon in-person to discuss your options. During your initial examination, your #chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. Liposuction under the chin is also another option your doctor can discuss. If you are not a candidate for chin or neck rejuvenation at the time of your #consultation, your board certified plastic surgeon can recommend alternatives to address your concern. However, there may be additional options to improve the appearance of your other features to improve the overall balance of your face. Such can be best evaluated in-person. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in #face, #neck and #chin procedures is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible.
Your chin is recessed, which is sometimes referred to as a “weak chin.” Ideally, the lips and chin should be on the same plane. A chin implant could add projection to your chin so that is better aligned with your lips. This will also balance your nose, making it look more in proportion to your face. I hope this helps.
Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation#weakchin #chinimplant
A properly placed chin implant will improve and balance your proportions and profile. The implant is designed to add projection to the chin as well as influence width and height. Other additional procedures to address a weak chin would be the use of facial fillers and/or liposuction. I would advise having a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics.
Yes, you do. In person evaluation with an experienced plastic surgeon would help to decide what type of chin augmentation would improve your facial balance.
The photographs demonstrate a weak and recessive chin profile. The weak chin makes the nose look more projecting than it really is. Consider placement of a chin implant to help with facial balance and proportions,. Chin implants accomplish augmenting the chin forward to help with the entire chin and jaw line. Chin implants are composed of solid silicone, and are usually placed under local anesthesia through a small incision underneath the chin. In our practice, we use Implantech brand of chin implants for over 25 years with an excellence success rate. The size and the shape of the implant is best determined that the time of the examination consultation, since both the implant and the chin are three-dimensional structures. Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. Yes, from the photos your chin is indeed weak. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery. Hope this helps.
Seeing your side profile, you need a chin augmentation. Chin augmentation can be non-surgically via fillers and surgically by using chin implants. I can’t assess you photo completely for the frontal profile, but I can see you can do something to make your nose little sharper.
Though you have provided quite a few photos, it is impossible to say for certain what procedures would give you the results you seek. As you’ve pointed out, the lower portion of your face could be improved. A chin implant could be the solution for this and they are relatively low risk and not v...
A chin implant will not necessarily change the position of your bottom lip but it could change how the lip will appear in comparison with the rest of the face. A sliding genioplasty could be effective; in this procedure the surgeon removes a piece of bone of the lower jaw and slides it forward,...
