Facial hair growth is a genetic trait. If you have very little facial hair there isn't much you can do to increase the growth. Transplant surgery may be an option.
With a consultation I could give you an exact answer, but I have successfully transplanted into mustaches and beards many times before. The procedure is very similar to a standard hair transplant with minimal downtime, recovery, and discomfort.
If you are older than 23 and have no hair, medicine does not work and beard area may restored with HT. You may plan a hair transplant surgery with an expert from scalp skin follicular units to beard area with FUE to have facial hair.If the patient needs a full face transplantation as in your case , at least 3000-3500 grafts would better to harvest and transplant to cheek, mustache areas.
Often the only way to have hair grow in an area that has no hair is to have a transplant. Many people have these successfully done so they can grow a thicker beard. However depending on your age it may simply take a while for your hair to start growing- if you are past the age where most members in your family started growing a full beard, you likely will need to have a transplant if you'd like to grow one too.
Many young men want to accelerate their beard growth and ask about it. It takes age (genetic triggers which occur in family lines) so if you want to find out when your beard will grow out, you need to find out when your father or grandfather (either side of the family) started to grow their beards. Hormones should have kicked in nicely by the time a man reaches 18 but some people must wait out his genetics as hormones alone are not responsible for the onset of beard growth. Beard transplants can be done when the young man is a bit older (over 25) if the beard has not fully grown in yet. Minoxidil may help and if it works, then you are among the lucky few. It often produces very fine hair (called vellus hair).
Unfortunately, there is no effective medication to stimulate permanent beard growth. Whether or not a man can grow a beard depends on his genetics and his age: if you are unable to grow a beard by your late twenties, then your only real option would be a beard transplant. Thanks for your question--I hope this has been helpful.Dr. Ballon
You have a good result from the use of minoxidil on your beard but these vellus hairs will probably fall away when you stop the minoxidil.
There is no hormone available to stimulate beard hair growth. PRP could be injected to stimulate facial hair thickness and density.
Keratosis pilaris is harmless. If the itch, dryness which can be treated with lotions and lanolin, or if the appearance of these bumps bothers you, treatment can help. Treatment can ease the symptoms and help you see clearer skin. This is not a contraindication for hair transplants
