Dr. Ballon and his staff are awesome! They are professional, not pushy, and make you feel very comfortable throughout the process. I'm almost 6 months post transplant and I am seeing progress. I'm excited to see the end result!
I cannot say enough about Dr. Ballon. I am a 22 year old male and had gotten so depressed due to my hair loss that I barely left the house. I never looked in the mirror and when I left the house I always wore a hat. I did a lot of research and chose Dr. Ballon based on reviews and pictures. I drove 2 hours to see him and he honestly changed my life. Most people think loosing hair is no big deal, wear a hat right? No, its a depressing, life changing.. You loose all self confidence, you loose friends and relationships because of how it changes you. You feel alone, well know that you are not. Dr. Ballon spent over an hour with me and explained so many options, he came up with a treatment plan for me. Now 7 months later and guess what, NO HAT!! I never thought that I would ever go outside without one. I am happy and I am so very thankful I chose him and his team! No matter what your age, man or woman, please go see him. I promise he will do anything he can to help you.. You honesty do not find Doctors like him anymore, he actually cares!
I found DR. Ballon through a Bosley website and read through his reviews. Choosing Dr. Ballon to preform this procedure was the best decision I have ever made. He was very upfront with me on what to expect. He stayed in constant contact with me after the surgery and was very personable. He did a terrific job with the surgery and five months in I am more then pleased with the results.
Dr. Ballon is a true professional in the industry. He has been there every step of the way with me and done everything he said he would. His direction on my post-op care and forecasting of my results have been equally as genuine and reliable. Simply put, I have not only been impressed with him every step of the way, but with my results as well. He eased me into the decision by providing me with all the info I needed and answering my questions, so that I could make an informed choice. Dr. Ballon even met me on the weekend for a pre-op consultation, so I would only have to stay one evening away from home. He had me out of surgery and feeling good enough to return to my out of state home later that night. I feel comfortable recommending him to anyone contemplating the same decision I was back in March 2016. Currently being less than eight months post surgery, I have been satisfied with my results since the beginning of fall 2016, even though I know the results can continue up until one year after surgery. Dr. Ballon has my highest support and approval!
Dr. Ballon has significantly helped me address my hair loss and reversed the process. The results have been amazing. He is very professional and knowledgeable regarding male pattern baldness. I noticed in my early twenties that my hairline was beginning to recede and overall hair was thinning. I had been placed on Propecia by my local dermatologist for several years and noticed that it was no longer working. I contacted Dr. Ballon regarding my hair loss and was placed on a different medication (Avodart). After only 6 months of being on the medication, my hair loss has stopped. More importantly, my hair has significantly begun to fill in and my hairline is starting to regrow. Dr. Ballon and Avodart have changed my life. As a young man, image is important and is part of your self confidence. I highly recommend him to anyone who is experiencing hair loss.
Recently, I met with Dr. Ballon for a 2 1/2 year post op apt where I learned this procedure is the best thing I've ever done for myself. We looked at before and after pictures and the results were remarkable. Dr. Ballon brought down my hair line considerably and my hair is much thicker now. Until we looked at the before pictures, I had forgotten just how thin my hair was. I would recommend Dr. Ballon to anyone. He was awesome. He was awesome before and during the procedure and was always there to answer questions afterwards. He set the right expectations and everything went exactly as he said it would. if you are considering this procedure, look no more. Dr. Ballon is your physician. Thanks Dr. Ballon
The decision on whether or not to have hair restoration surgery requires serious contemplation and is not to be taken lightly. The benefits can be tremendous; however, expectations need to managed. Looking into the future, I never pictured myself as the overweight bald guy. Diet, exercise and self discipline was the solution to the overweight issue. The solution to the baldness required the skillful hand of a qualified surgeon.
From initial consultation, through procedure day, immediate after care contact and subsequent follow-up appointments Dr. Jonathan Ballon provided at every step a clear and concise explanation of the procedure and the realistic expectations that would follow. He put to rest concerns around the procedure and its advancement from the early days of hair restoration to the modern day techniques that would allow for an almost immediate return to normal activites without the worry of questions or speculation from others. Dr. Ballon promised a gradual regrowth that would take some patience but in my case my results were more than I could have expected in a matter of at least 12 weeks and now some 10 months later my regrowth is still progressing. I cannot recommend Dr. Ballon and his Team enough, every member was professional, empathetic and very efficient at what they do. The office location is very conveneint to the Metro Atlanta area and is a state of the art medical facility. I am currently considering some additional work and would go no where else to have this procedure carried out.
Dr.Ballon has a great bedside manner and genuinely cares about his patients; he even calls the day after the procedure to check in and continues to keep in touch. The procedure is nearly painless and absolutely worth it. He does a great job on the procedure; the outcome looks completely natural. It was absolutely worth it, and if you're considering a hair transplant, I highly recommend Dr. Ballon.
Almost a year after my procedure, I couldn't be happier with the results with my hair/hairline. From the moment I met Dr. Ballon at the initial consultation I knew I was in very good hands. One of the deciding factors for me in selecting Dr. Ballon was his past experience as a neuro surgeon. Not all hair transplant doctors are nearly as qualified. This is why I flew all the way from Connecticut to have the procedure done with Dr. Ballon. He was very involved in all aspects of the evaluation, preparation and procedure. He put me at ease by thoroughly answering all my questions and concerns. He took the time to educate me about all aspects of the procedure. I was blown away with his bed side manner and the VIP treatment that I received by Dr. Ballon and his outstanding surgical staff. After completing the procedure I was clearly instructed on what MY responsibilities were before and after, and the importance I played in taking the necessary steps to ensure the very best outcome. On top of that, he calls you after the operation and genuinely cares about your health and the outcome. I would highly recommend anyone considering hair restoration to seek Dr. Ballon out for a consultation.
That’s a lengthy procedure, and points up what I believe is an advantage of FUT (“strip”) over FUE for large cases: rather than performing the recipient site creation and graft extraction sequentially, and adding hours onto the procedure time, with strip surgery the site creation and preparation of grafts are performed simultaneously. Thus, while the sites are being made, a team of experienced techs can dissect most or all of the tissue and the grafts will be ready for implantation without a delay. This makes for a shorter, more comfortable day for the patient and less out-of-body time for the grafts: a win-win. All this is a bit of a digression from your question, but a point that is often lost in the current FUE craze. The survival and growth of your grafts will depend on many things in addition to the length of the procedure, mostly related to proper tissue storage and handling. But after all is said and done, the maximum out-of-body time for your grafts was between 6-10 hours—a long day, but certainly not unheard of. Assuming all other factors are working in your favor, there’s no reason to think that your grafts won’t grow. Try not to worry about it and see what things look like in 6 months, at which time you should see roughly 50% of your final growth. Thanks for your question—I hope this was helpful. Dr. Ballon
At this point, it is unlikely that you will see any significant additional growth. It is difficult to achieve really good density in the crown with as large an area of hair loss as you had, and I think it’s safe to say that as part of the initial consultation most surgeons would discuss the probable need for two or more procedures. Whether or not this makes sense for you will depend upon your age and your donor area; fortunately, it appears that your balding pattern is limited mostly or entirely to the crown. This is something that you should discuss with your surgeon (or another surgeon of your choosing). A word of advice: make every effort to quit smoking. This is not only the best thing you could do for your overall health, but it might very possibly increase the survival and growth of your grafts should you have another hair transplant. Thanks for your question—I hope this was helpful. Dr. Ballon
There can be no denying that your growth at 8+ months is poor, and poor growth can be due to many things. It would seem highly unlikely that the indoor temperature at your clinic was in excess of 40° C/104° F; even if that were the case, it shouldn't really have been a problem unless the solution in which your grafts were placed had evaporated. If you haven't already done so, you should discuss this matter with your surgeon.
Hi, Lady Steph--Unfortunately, this is not a question that can be answered quickly online. It really depends on the cause and extent of your hair loss. Whether or not a hair transplant would work for you, or whether some other type of treatment would also be recommended, is something that can only be determined by meeting with an experienced hair loss expert. Thanks for your question--I hope this was helpful.Dr. Ballon
If it makes you feel better, you're not alone: it's amazing how many people (including yours truly) bump their head after their surgery, no matter how careful they try to be. I have one word for you: RELAX! Unless you somehow managed to knock out dozens of grafts, which I doubt (you'd have experienced what would have looked like fairly significant bleeding,) it wouldn't make a noticeable difference in your final result. Thanks for your question--I hope this was reassuring!Dr. Ballon
