Thank you for your question. If you have brown or red getting better, then it is helping. If you are not seeing any benefit, then it is not helping. If you have precancerous lesions like actinic keratosis they can be getting reduced. IPL is a very short pulse of light. Probably most of the benefit comes from additional incidental light after the IPL treatment. Personally, I like to activate Levulan with red light (630nm Omnilux) because it gives me the best results.
If you don't see that you are getting the changes you expected, consult your treating physician. The most effective way to use Levulan is with a Blu-U machine. It is much more intense than treatment with an IPL. It will result in a lot of peeling, but it provides better results than treatments with an IPL.
