I am considering breast augmentation and may add a lift later . I have been reading so many comments from women who hate their breasts. I don't hate my breasts. If they looked like they did when I was 35, I would love them more. Lost volume when I went from 105 lbs to 98 lbs (5.3 1/2" tall; age 50). I am worried that I will be bothered by the weight of them and that I may look fat post BA. (I will go smaller than most ). I would love any input or thoughts about this. Thank you :)

Answer: Seeking Advice Hello,I can't tell you whether you should have breast surgery, but I can tell you that if you do, beware. Your breasts are substantially different, not only in size, but in shape (skin envelope surface area). The typical recipe for two different sized breasts is putting a larger implant into the smaller breast. However, in a situation like yours, this will actually accentuate the differences in the shape of your breasts, the smaller getting more expanded then the larger. You can have subtly larger, and more beautiful breasts without looking heavier, but you should want to do it right the first time. Unfortunately, avoiding a lift/asymmetric reduction along with implants will probably make you unhappy.Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons that specialize in cosmetic breast surgery.Best of luck!

Answer: Breasts augmentation with mini lift Dear PDS, Thanks for submitting your picture. From observing your picture , you appear to be A cup on the left side and small B on the right side. You also have level 2 ptosis with large areolas and your breasts are positioned quite low on your chest. Based on my 29 years of practice and thousands of breasts augmentation patients. I would strongly recommend to do the breasts augmentation with mini lift (donut) at the same time. Breasts augmentation alone, will worsen the ptosis, unless the crease is lowered significantly, which will position your breasts even lower on your chest. In my opinion, this is unattractive and not youthful. Additionally, at times, the crease is rigid and a double bubble can occur. As far as implants size, you did not provide your chest circumference measurement in inches, which is critical for the correct selection of implants size based on your desire. Let's assume that you are current bra is 32 B. To become 32 full C cup(very nice size) , you will need on the right side implant with volume of 225 cc and on the left side 325 cc. These are not big implant, so you do not have to worry about being bothered by their weight. You have to realize that not all results are the same, because experience, skills and aesthetic eye, are critical for obtaining satisfying and good outcome. So, do your due diligence and choose wisely. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder
