I had 450 cc implants under the muscle 6 weeks ago. I since believe I needed a lift and I have also been told I look like I have tubular breast deformity TBD. Is this just a case of needing to wait for them to drop more or do you think there is a problem here? My doctor told me the implant would fill the breast and so no need for a lift. But they just don't look ok. The right one almost looks like it has a double bubble.

Answer: Have I got tubular breast deformity or is this a drop and fluff thing and I just need to be patient? You are still very early in the post-operative period. It typically takes 3 - 6 months for the swelling to subside and implants to settle into proper position. Swelling usually accounts for 10 - 15% of the initial post-operative appearance. The implants may swell asymmetrically. Please discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Also, make sure you follow all of your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions regarding level of physical activity and use of a support bra. Regards,

Answer: Tuberous Breasts? While it is certainly possible you may desire a lift in the future, because your surgeon considered that and "rejected" it there is reasonable likelihood that when all the "settling" has occurred you may be "happy enough" without one. Worst case scenario, you gave yourself every opportunity to avoid one so if it is warranted you can be sure it is the proper decision and "worth" the added scars. AND - actually it IS safer and more predictable to separate the surgeries - most patients just will not wait.
