Cosmetic dentists can generally provide prescription strength teeth whitening agents that are generally much stronger than what you can get at most salons. It is best to have a thorough exam by a dentist to inspect for cavities and tooth sensitivity prior to getting whitening in order to avoid a very painful experience.Cosmetic dentist will have other options available to you if whitening is not effective on you. Salons will not have additional options, besides trying the whitening more than once. The cost at the salon is usually more expensive than at your dental office (with and without insurance).Good luck and I hope this helps. Teeth whitening is another form of most conservative but still minimally invasive procedure. For that reason , there is now a law in UK for it to be performed by registered and trained dental professionals only. Anybody doing it a salon, would be illegal. Check before you go. If things go wrong, where will you go for help.
I cannot understand why a person would go to a salon for teeth whitening. Teeth whitening is a dental procedure and as such should be performed by a licensed dental professional. Would you go to your car mechanic to get a heart transplant? I don't mean to be rude but it is not wise to be penny wise and pound foolish. Get your teeth treated at a dental facility by a licensed dental professional.
The salon can't take impressions and make custom bleaching trays for use at home. In my experience the home treatment works the best.
Dear terry:When you go to have your teeth cleaned, and your mouth examined by a dental professional, you are being seen by a person who is trained in doing just that. Both the dentist and the hygienist are trained in the biology and physiology of your mouth and teeth. They know what is normal and what is not, and can tell you if your oral care at home is adequate, which is equally important as a professional cleaning. There is a reason for the existence of dental schools and dental hygiene schools. It takes time and resources to train the proper professional to do the proper work.I do not know to whom you refer by salon, but since you have only one mouth, and one body, the only answer that I can give you is to go and see a properly trained dental professional. Best wishes,
