I have 350cc high profile silicone breast Implants and I'm starting to dislike how my breasts project from the side profile. I like the roundness from frontal view but I'd prefer to switch my implants to moderate plus to achieve a more natural look from side view. I'm concerned about the amount of stretch the breasts have taken due to the roundness and high profile type of implant. Does this mean I will need larger CCs with moderate plus if I decide to switch implants? Please advise.
Answer: Hi profile implants The difference between hi profile and moderate plus is not much. The height and diameter very only about 1 centimeter in dimension. You may just want smaller implants, although 350 cc's is a modest size to begin with. I would really need to see photos to better advise you.

Answer: Switching would not make a significant difference You can obtain the technical specifications of the implants you have by consulting the manufacturer. They will tell you the projection of the 350 cc high profile implants and the moderate plus implants you are considering. Once you get the specifications, you will find that the difference is approximately 1 centimeter. A 1 centimeter difference would not be cost effective and you will be dissatisfied with the result. Answer: Implant Selection Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill

Answer: Switching from high profile to moderate profile plus breast implants may be a good idea Thank you for your question. As others have stated I think your plan is a good 1 as many patients subjective to the look of a high profile implant. The moderate profile plus will give you more fullness medially and laterally. Please consult a plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, experienced in breast surgery and who has an excellent reputation in your community.Often during exchange of implants a slightly larger implant may be needed by about 25 or 50 cc. Please discuss this with your plastic surgeon and if the surgeon is Welling give the surgeon the option of going larger at the time of surgery if the surgeon feels you need this.

Answer: That is an issue with high profile implants. Only an exam will help determine what will help you the most. Please find an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and member of the Aesthetic Society using the Smart Beauty Guide. These Plastic Surgeons can guide you on all aspects of facial surgery, breast augmentation and body procedures including tummy tucks or mommy makeovers! In breast augmentation I have chosen to spend time reviewing photographs with patients to fully understand their expectation of size and shape. Many times this simply raises more questions. I will make measurements and use the implant guides to allow the patient to understand exactly the sizes that are reasonable for their body type and measurements.
