What Are the Most Common Reasons for Breast Implant Not Drop?

There are several reason why the breast implant does not drop. Sometimes the muscle does not completely release and the pectoralis muscle keeps the implant too high. Another reason can be that the inframammary fold, the fold underneath the breast,  was not properly dissected. Based on our description, since you did not included pictures, I would suggest a revision. To do this, I would suggest releasing the muscle completely and dissecting the inframamary fold to allow the implant to drop. Also, post operatively, I would use a band to push the breast down and I would also advocate early breast massages.

Most breast implants will loosen up as the swelling goes down and artificial support for the volume of the implant disappears. If the breasts then re-ascends, this is probably due to capsular contracture. If the implant never goes to this series of changes is probably because the pocket was of inadequate size from the beginning.

Without an exam and an appreciation for what your chest looked like before your procedure it is hard to say, but many times one breast is narrower and has a different fold level. This may be what it is.
