The patient should wait about four weeks after rhinoplasty before wearing glasses normally. It is best to avoid putting any pressure directly on the nasal bridge during this crucial healing period. Contact lenses are great for daytime use as they negate the need for eyeglasses completely. Alternatively, there are a variety of ways to wear your glasses while still ensuring proper healing. Some patients choose to wear their glasses over their splint, or pad their glasses with foam so it does not affect the nasal bridge. Others will tape their glasses to their forehead. Finally, patients have the option of using cheek rests that will allow for support from the cheeks rather than the nose. These cheek rests are available for purchase at most pharmacies.
