I have one side only inverted nipple that will exvert with sqeezing and pressure, it will stay out for a few moments and go back in to invrted state. I have read about an office visit fix abd local anesthesia . What is the round about cost and recovery time. Also diabetic how much would my diabetes play a role in being able to have procedure done
Answer: Inverted nipple treatment You have grade 2 nipple inversion. This could be successfully treated even under local though most of my patients prefer to have a little IV sedation. You would need to wear protective bandages for a week and additional protective cushions for another month. Cost is probably in the $2000-3000 range.

Answer: Inverted nipple repair It sounds like you have a grade 2 inverted nipple, which can be repaired with a quick and easy nipple repair which can be performed under local anesthesia in under an hour. The cost varies from region to region and with varying expertise. In the Los Angeles area the average is around $3,000. The recovery is minimal and most go on with their daily activities without a problem. Our experience with over 190 nipple repairs has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Aesthetic Surgery and will be published soon. We preserve the majority of the ducts using our technique, however there is still a chance that you will not be able to breast feed with that breast after. So if you are seriously considering having a child in the future, you should wait to have it done until after. Especially if you know you were already able to breast feed with that breast before. Well controlled diabetes should not be a problem. Seek a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in inverted nipple repair. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Answer: Well-controlled diabetes should not be a problem… Inverted nipples can cause functional problems for women and emotional concerns. An inverted nipple can look flat or a slit like depression or hole at the normal nipple location. There are different degrees of inverted nipples possible. Correction of inverted nipples depends on the problem. Usually correction of the inverted nipples involve division of the lactiferous (milk ducts). Risks of the procedure include potential loss of sensation, inability to breast-feed, recurrence of the asymmetry and the potential need for further surgery. Costs of surgery in our office range between $800-$1200. Usually done under local anesthesia, without difficulty. I hope this, and the attached link, helps.
