I am interested in rejuvenating the skin of my neck and décolletage. I am thinking of pearl fractional laser. I am a 50 y/o reformed sunbather and have some textural, freckling and crepeness to chest area and committed for the past 25 years to DAILY SPF 30 (or higher). Any thoughts if I would be a good candidate? I do not drink or smoke and am in good health.
Answer: A great option for thin skin would be CO2, Morpheus8, and Venus Viva. All help production of collagen Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Rejuvenating the neck and decolletage with fraxel, IPL, peels and microneedling/prp This is difficult to answer without pictures. Each Doctor will have their preferred lasers, but for rejuvenating the skin of the neck and decolletage, I recommend a combination treatment of Fraxel lasers, IPL, peels, microneedling/prp. It may take a series of treatments to get improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Yes! Don't Give Up On Your Neck / Decolletage! It would be great to see you in person or at least in pictures to give you more customized recommendations - it is so important to know your skin type/pigment when discussing lasers. I am personally not a huge fan of the Pearl, but really believe in the changes you can make in this area. Usual best combinations in this area are combinations of MLP/ProFractional/BBL/Skintyte or Halo/BBL/Skintyte for less downtime. With all, I see better results with addition of PRP, *threads* and dilute Scuptra for even more results without increasing downtime. These additional treatments are also safe in all skin pigment types. Be sure to consult a specialist in the full range of non-surgical treatment options, with a real focus on neck/chest (it's very specialty needing skin) to get your best results.

Answer: Treatments for Thin Skin Thanks for your question. We don't have a Pearl fractional laser so I checked its ratings on Real Self. It only has a 63% worth it rating. If you are going the fractional laser to correct sun damage and texture, you would also need a series of IPL treatments. IPL is only safe for skin types I-III. You may experience redness and swelling for 1 to 7 days with this combination treatment.Since you didn't complain about any vascular lesions (red discoloration), you should consider a series of PicoSure FOCUS treatments. Our patients see a reduction of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage and a thickening of their skin that will eliminate crepiness. Best of luck.

Answer: Vivace Microneedling may be your answer The great thing with this system is you can work on multiple areas with the same disposable cartridge of needles and use them to deliver radiofrequency to your areas of concern. You need probably 2-3 sessions. Good luck.
