Breast augmentation 5 weeks ago, and today I found out that I am pregnant. What are the risks?

Thank you for the question. It is a difficult question to answer this question. I am sure a pregnancy test was performed on day of surgery as that is a must in our practice. If that was negative that would be good news. It is best to discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon. I would also recommend to discuss with your OB GYN doctor and explain this. Good luck.

I understand your concern, but I believe that the risk of untoward events during your pregnancy, and with your baby (big congratulations to y'all, btw!) are very low. This very thing has happened to me a couple of times, where the patient was pregnant in a window where the urine BHCG didn't pick it up, & everything turned out great for both Mom & baby both times. 
However, I would obviously talk to both your plastic surgeon & (of course) your OB/GYN about it. Best of luck to all of you! 

Congrats tonssssssI don't see any reason that you would be at increased risk with this pregnancy due to your BAM procedure.  Of course your OB would be best to discuss it with.  I would advise you to bring all of the medication bottles with you for him to look at and evaluate in light of your entire history and physical status.  Again, I don't anticipate increased risks given what you have written.Best of luck to you both.sek

Hi there.  Firstly - what wonderful news for you both!  There is very little if any risk to your baby as a result of your BA.  Antibiotics can frequently reduce the effectiveness of your contraception.  Any way, this is a lovely time so enjoy it.  Most important thing to do now is look after your breasts by wearing your surgical support bra day and night as much as possible.  Best of luck.
