6 years post op - what can I do to target swelling bump on nose? (photos)

Question

I got a rhinoplasty in 2018. Now last year a small bump started to deform on one side of my nose. The weird part is it is flat in the morning when I wake up and gets worse throughout the day. At evening it is the biggest. I think it is water building up. Ultrasound does show fluid but no cyst. My nose looks completely deformed! Help I am so sad and no doctors know what it is in my country. Does it go away with surgery ? It gets much worse when I wear make up.

Some people are born with nasal cysts, however, they are usually in the midline. We can see that your bulge is off to the side. Since it's a bit of an enigma, imaging as mentioned above may be indicated. Additionally, if fluid can be aspirated, it should be sent to the laboratory for analysis to determine the type of fluid. As far as I can see from your photos, your nose is in really bad shape for better breath and image I recommend you a revision rhinoplasty surgery.

If it’s fluid filled it couid be aspirated with a needle. If it is hard it is either bone or cartilage.  I would be interested in whether you originally  had a cartilage graft at the time of your rhinoplasty. It couid be a dislodged cartilage graft.

If this is a new finding that is not consistent with your surgical outcome then it would be helpful if you had comparison pictures to what your nose used to look like.
Do you have before and after pictures from the outcome of your procedure?
If not ask your previous provider to forward the pictures they took.
I also recommend you follow up with the surgeon who did your rhinoplasty surgery to get an assessment.
