I underwent a primary rhinoplasty in March of 2021. I had my dorsal hump removed and my tip lifted. It wasn’t perfect (crooked from front view) but it was a huge improvement so I was pretty happy. Between the last year (2.5 years to 3.5 years post op) I’ve noticed a huge lack of definition in my tip appearing, which is odd, I’ve always heard the opposite. It feels squishy, not hard at the tip. Any insight on this? Do I need a revision?

Answer: Rhinoplasty outcome From the two pictures you’ve included. I think your nose looks fine, and I see no strong indication for having surgical intervention. To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you feel that there has been a change overtime, then include pictures of what you look like early postoperatively and what you look like now. If your nose bothers you enough that you’re willing to have surgical intervention, then follow up with your provider or schedule in person second opinion consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. For second opinion, consultations patients should always come prepared bringing with them a complete set of proper before and after pictures and a copy of your previous operative report. These should be available from your previous provider if you request them. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
